Fourth International Conference on

Artificial Intelligence in Design (AID'96)

24-27 June 1996
Stanford University
California, USA

Design is becoming an important research topic in engineering and architecture. It is the key to economic competitiveness and the fundamental precursor to manufacturing. However, our understanding of design as a process and our ability to model it are still very limited. This conference series aims to provide an international forum for the presentation and discussion of the state-of-the-art and cutting edge research and developments in artificial intelligence in design. The first conference in the series was held in Edinburgh, Scotland in June 1991, the second in Pittsburgh, USA in June 1992, and the third in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1994.
