I have spent most of my working life in universities in Australia, Britain and the USA undertaking research, teaching and consulting in acoustics and aerodynamics. During my time in the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Sydney I also taught in the Engineering, Science and Arts Faculties, served as Head of Architectural and Design Science,  was Pro Dean and Acting Dean of Architecture and was responsible for starting postgraduate programs in Building Services, Facilities Management and Audio. I have served on national and international standards committees as chairman and committee member and as an editor and editorial board member of several journals.
